About Us

Supporting the African continent remains crucial as many countries continue to deal with developmental challenges. An alternative development model is essential—one that prioritises sustainable practices and respects local knowledge and cultures. This approach ensures that development efforts are meaningful, impactful, and beneficial for the communities involved.

In the Caribbean, developmental needs are often neglected or overlooked. Addressing these needs is vital for fostering resilience and creating opportunities for these communities to thrive. ENACT is committed to shining a light on these issues and driving initiatives that can make a tangible difference.

In the UK, one cannot overlook the profound contributions of the Windrush generation, whose resilience and hard work have shaped and enriched British society. Despite their invaluable contributions, many from this generation still face struggles that need addressing through targeted support and engagement.

Moreover, there is a pressing need to unite and connect the African continent and the Caribbean region with the African and Caribbean diaspora in the UK. By fostering these connections, we can build stronger, more supportive communities that transcend geographical boundaries and create a unified front against the challenges faced by these groups.

Purpose

The Empowerment Network for Africa and the Caribbean Transformation (ENACT) aims to bridge the gap between Africa, the Caribbean, and the UK by fostering socio-economic development through empowerment initiatives.

ENACT leverages extensive networks, diverse skills, and in-depth knowledge to create and share opportunities across these regions, thereby uplifting communities and supporting diaspora groups.

ENACT collaborates with African and Caribbean scholars to produce insightful research and policy briefs, ensuring our work is informed by the latest knowledge and grounded in the cultural contexts of the communities we serve; this collaboration allows us to generate in-depth research on various social, economic, and environmental issues, develop policy recommendations that advocate for positive change, and promote evidence-based solutions that form the foundation of our initiatives.

Partnerships and Localisation

In each country, ENACT works directly with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to ensure that all activities are locally led. Our localisation approach ensures that our initiatives are informed by local knowledge and expertise, making them more effective and sustainable. By empowering local partners, we create lasting change that is deeply rooted in the communities we serve.

Through these efforts, ENACT strives to uplift and empower communities, addressing their unique challenges and fostering a future of resilience and opportunity.
